What we collect and why
MAKEUP Info helps you understand cosmetic ingredients and save analyses. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the provider's account identifier and, when shared, your email address and name. We use them to authenticate you, keep sessions secure, and link verified identities. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
You can try analyses without signing in. A protected guest session links your submitted profiles, photos, results and usage to this installation; analysis data is processed and stored by the same service providers described below. Guest access does not provide recovery on another device. When you sign in, guest history and usage are linked to the verified account you choose. You can remove guest data using Delete guest data in the app's account settings. Deletion does not restart the introductory period.
Profiles may include a display name, skin type, preferences, allergies or other information you choose to enter, an avatar, and a face photo. Analyses may include cosmetic labels, ingredient lists, questions, photos, and generated recommendations. We process these to deliver the feature you request and to save and synchronize your profiles and history. Face images are used for the requested cosmetic analysis, not to verify your identity.
We use device push tokens to notify you when a requested analysis is ready. You can control notification, camera and photo permissions in your device settings. We do not track your location. Documents exported to PDF remain on your device until you share them or remove them.
Subscriptions and service operation
Apple or Google processes payments. We receive purchase identifiers, product and store information, subscription status and expiry through RevenueCat to verify access, handle restoration and enforce usage limits. We do not receive your full card number. A server-generated billing identifier connects your purchase to your application account.
We record technical information such as request and job identifiers, operation types, timing, errors, quota use, purchase-flow events and AI usage/cost estimates. Network information, including an IP address or a derived identifier, may be processed to protect authentication and prevent abuse. Subscription analytics excludes submitted photos, ingredient lists, profile names and analysis results.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides our API, database, object storage, queues and operational monitoring. Google Gemini processes the text and images needed for the analysis you explicitly request. Google Firebase provides device push messaging. RevenueCat verifies and manages subscription information. Apple and Google provide sign-in and store services. Providers may process information outside your country under their applicable terms and safeguards.
Google's handling of Gemini inputs depends on the API service and billing configuration. Its Gemini API terms describe processing, retention and the differences between paid and unpaid services, including possible use of unpaid-service content to improve Google products. We do not sell your personal data or use your submitted cosmetic analyses to target advertisements.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, profile, saved analysis and associated photo information to provide your account and history until you delete it or request deletion. Temporary processing copies may remain during retries and cleanup. Provider logs, backups and purchase records follow their separate retention policies.
You can delete your account in the app's account settings, or request deletion by emailing the address above. We may verify account ownership before acting. Account deletion removes sign-in identities, sessions, profiles, saved history and associated media from the active service; storage cleanup is retried when necessary. Minimal opaque purchase, quota and deleted-task records may remain to prevent fraud, reassignment of a purchase or reappearance of deleted results. Operational logs, backups and provider records may remain for their retention periods.
Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel separately in the store that billed you. Files you already shared outside the app cannot be removed by us. Account deletion instructions.
Your choices and contact
You can edit profiles, delete saved items, change device permissions and request access, correction, a copy or deletion of your information by contacting us. Additional rights may apply under the law where you live. We verify requests to protect the account. If you use the app as a minor, involve your parent or guardian where required by applicable law.
We may update this policy when the service changes. The effective date above identifies this version; material changes will be communicated where required.
